About J&L Hound Hotel

Welcome to J&L Hound Hotel! My name is Caroline and my reason, or should I say my inspiration, for creating this business was my furbabies, Jack & Lucie. From day one of having dogs, I knew they were my calling and that I would somehow have a very furry future with them. So from working at a vets to doing multiple doggy courses, I have had experience in trying to understand and read their needs. With having 2 pampered pooches of my own who love their home comforts, I understand the importance of having somewhere safe for your furry family member to stay while you are away. Because of this, I will try to accommodate any part of a pups schedule, from walking to food to medication to play time. So for any requests or questions please get in touch!

Home away from home

I strive to make sure that any dog, big or small, noisy or quiet, lazy or loud, feels welcome at my hound hotel. Any request or desire for your dog is accommodated as much as possible.

Making friends

I have a doggie date before the stay to make sure everyone feels at ease. The guests can be introduced with Mum or Dad present so they know they are in a safe environment & play can begin!

Speaking their language

If I had one wish, I would be a doggie Dr Dolittle. But until that day comes, I put my spare time into completing as many courses as I can to understand how a dogs mind works.

Staying on top form

With having Lucie (my beagle) on tablets & my experience working in a vet surgery, I feel confident in giving medication & I am very committed to making sure your dog stays healthy when in my care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Regularly asked questions from our clients

Will our dogs get along?

As you can imagine my doggies are very social but with having a doggie date before you stay, we can make sure that everyone involved is happy and that your dog will embrace their holiday.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated, wormed, neutered etc?

Yes all dogs in my care need to be up to date with vaccinations, including the kennel cough vaccine, flea treatment and worming treatment. Also, all dogs need to be neutered. This is in accordance with the rules of my license, given by the council.

What happens in case of an emergency?

I consider any dog in my care as one of my own for the duration of their stay. Therefore, if I feel there is an emergency I will seek immediate medical attention from my own vets. If I feel your dog is showing any early signs of illness, I would be in contact to see what you think should be the next course of action.

Where do they sleep?

This depends on what works for you. There are a few options based on what they are normally used to at home. I have guests who sleep in the kitchen, guests who require a crate and even ones who sleep next to my bed. We can discuss what is the best option on our doggy date.
